Do you know what your purpose is in this life?
This isn’t as ‘woo-woo’ of a question as you may initially think. In fact, many of the world’s most successful business people are driven by their individual purposes.
As we farewell another challenging year, I want you all to take a moment to consider why you’ve kept going throughout these turbulent times. With a new year in sight, do you have a large goal or perhaps a few large goals that you’re ready to achieve?
If you’re unsure of where to begin, start by unleashing the power of purpose.
Your purpose is not what you do in business, it’s why you do it.
When we know ‘why’ something is important to us, we can then craft the ‘how’ around living it every day.
In business, we can wake up every day and live in one of two scenarios. Scenario A is heading to your desk with an ever-growing to-do list that doesn’t feel exciting, empowering or like you’re working towards a bigger picture. It’s exhausting, unmotivating and mundane.
Scenario B is that we can wake up and know exactly what it is we need to do that day to live fulfilled and prosperously. Every decision that we make throughout the day is aligned with our overarching goals and we’ve got the right people and strategies around us to achieve them.

I think we can all agree that one of these scenarios sounds way more productive than the other! Scenario B is a standout thanks to the individual knowing the purpose of their day-to-day and how every move contributes to not just their goals but aligning with their reason for achieving them – their purpose.
In business, knowing ‘your why’ is an integral step in deciphering how you’re going to achieve your goals for that month, quarter, or even financial year.
Alongside your values and vision for the business, it should drive all decision making, from the hiring process to your business strategy.
This why will guide you to bringing the right people into your space, make you a more impactful leader, keep you motivated during challenging times and remind you that every small achievement is contributing to that large overarching goal of yours. Consider it your true north in business!
Living your purpose doesn’t mean that every challenge or problem in the world suddenly disappears (if only) but it does it equip you with the knowledge of what you need to do to continually live more consciously, authentically, and effectively to remain aligned and connected to that purpose.
Getting clear on your purpose and writing it down is a fantastic step but it’s not enough. You need to put words into action and start living that purpose; this is where change can truly happen.
This is where I come in. I want to help you uncover what you really want out of 2022 and how you’re going to achieve it.
As novelist Allen Raine once said, “you may get to the very top of the ladder, and then find it has not been leaning against the right wall” so together, let’s ensure you’re not only against the right wall but that you take each step on the ladder abundantly confident.
Make all your efforts count.
