Like most relationships, you probably started your business with a lot of excitement and passion. As time has gone by, you may be finding that you’ve lost that spark. You may even be considering divorce! Before you throw in the towel, let’s talk about how you can bring back that spark and love your business again.
Bring back the celebration
It’s easy to get bogged down in the daily grind of running your business and lose sight of all the little wins that happen along the way. Remember at the start when you did a happy dance every time you won a new client or secured another sale? It’s time to bring that back. Set yourself mini-goals for each day/week and decide what you will do to celebrate when you achieve them. Your reward can be anything that might motivate you such as time out from the business, playing a specific song, having a celebratory drink or indulging in an edible treat! By celebrating your little wins, you are focusing on what you want and creating gratitude. You’ll be surprised how much easier the big goals are achieved when you put your attention on the mini ones.
Inject some fun
Just because you are working, it doesn’t mean your day has to be boring!
Finding little ways to inject fun into your everyday work is a great way to love your business again and to attract more of what you want into your business (and life in general). You can even get your customers involved!
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Have a word of the day that you challenge yourself to use as many times as possible
- Get outside while taking a phone/zoom call
- Create a joke of the day email with colleagues/associates and take turns at sharing a joke forward
- Decorate your workspace
- Look for ways to compliment someone each day
- Set yourself fun/silly challenges
Schedule your FREE 30 Minute Discovery Call Today!
When you start out in business, you tend to do everything yourself and I can guarantee that there are some tasks that you really dislike doing. Whether it’s bookkeeping, copywriting, social media or something else, how great would it feel to not have to do that task yourself? Handing over your least favourite tasks is a great way to fall in love with your business again.
Before you say that you can’t afford to do that, think about how much time you would save and how you could use that time to generate the money to pay for it. By spending the time you have in your business on tasks that you actually enjoy, you will attract more income into your business because you’ll be loving what you are doing.
It’s vital that you create processes to be able to hand over those tasks and ensure that they are done in alignment with your business. If processes are not your strong suit, book a free discovery call to see how I can help.
Be effective with your time
Minimising time wasted within your business will alleviate stress and give you more time to do the things that excite you. Implementing processes, educating customers, empowering staff members and incorporating automation are all ways to be more effective with your time. Tim Ferriss who wrote The 4 hour work week says “Focus on being productive instead of being busy”. What would you do in your business if you magically found an extra hour a day? I’m yet to meet a business that couldn’t create an extra hour by eliminating wasted time.
Fire undesirable clients/customers
We all have them. Those P.I.T.A clients/customers that make us cringe every time we see their name appear. The truth is that these clients may bring in money but at what cost to you? Do you spend more time dealing with them?
Do they drain your energy?
Do they put you in a negative state?
Do they ruin your day?
How would you feel if you didn’t have any of those customers? By filtering these clients/customers from your business, you will free up time and energy for the ones that allow you to love your business.
If you haven’t been feeling the love in your business, I encourage you to give these things a go and fall in love with your business again.
Why not schedule a roadmap and strategy session with me so we can reignite the relationship you have with your business?
You might just fall head over heels in love again!
