Do you remember when you first started your business?
Now, be honest. Did you try to start up your business without any external support?
Perhaps you tried to build the website yourself or even dabble in a bit of Facebook advertising. Or maybe you spent hours and hours watching tutorials trying to master email marketing or developing a funnel.
Unless you have A LOT of time, it’s going to be challenging to become an expert in everything you need to execute the start-up of your business correctly. Often, we avoid spending time and money in the early days of business. Unfortunately, it ends up costing us a whole lot more in the future. We try to be a specialist in every field and end up feeling overwhelmed and exhausted.
I know in my first business ‘I did!’ Let me share with you though, I certainly didn’t try that again with my second business!
Or do you believe – No way, I would never ask for help!!
Instead, do you say to yourself “I’ll be right”… then two months later you are in the thick of the mud, unable to get out?
How do you know when you need to outsource something in your business?

Sometimes it’s our ego that believes we don’t need anyone else help building our business. Or we let our pride get in the way of asking for help. The truth is, we end up paying for it later on- financially and emotionally- if we try to be the hero that does it all.
It’s okay to ask for help, and it’s definitely okay to outsource the parts of the business which you aren’t sure about! Not everyone is an expert at website design, writing, marketing and accounting. Instead, pick your strengths and the parts which you feel comfortable doing and focus on those. Invest from the start when starting up- otherwise, you will end up paying tenfold down the track.
Now, how many of you have started a business without creating a business plan?
Creating a business plan at the start of your business is one of the most important things you can do. Without a business plan, you end up trying to drive to a new destination without any idea on how to get there. Business plans are like road maps with a GPS. They guide us and keep us on the path to where we want our business to be.
What do you believe stops people doing a business plan? More work? Lack of time? Or perhaps they will do it…eventually…but then things keep getting in the way? While it may feel like extra work at the beginning, it actually will help save you time in the long run.
The best part is, it’s never too late to create a business plan! If it’s something you let go by the wayside at the beginning of your business, now is your opportunity to set those GPS coordinates and get your business to where you want it to be.
